GMFK is a new German partner in the field of cooperation with Africa. The overall objective of the GMFK is to strengthen biomedical research on infectious and non-communicable diseases in the Republic of Congo, with an impact on Central Africa. To this end, the GMFK works closely with the FCRM ("Fondation congolaise pour la recherche médicale"), which is the main actor in the biomedical field and in the fight against infectious and non-infectious diseases in the Republic of Congo for over 15 years.
GMFK's role is to identify all interested parties in Germany and communicate to them the needs and gaps of our African partners in order to have an overall impact on the burden of disease in this part of the world.
In a world that is more interconnected than ever, we in the GMFK believe that support for biomedical research in low-income countries should be considered as necessary and essential to global development as any part of public safety measures.
For us, it is not only important, but a duty.
