At GMFK, we believe in the power of international cooperation to improve health and well-being. With this vision, we have mobilized our resources, network, and commitment to support Le Havre, a brand-new maternity center being built in Brazzaville in collaboration with the Fondation Congolaise pour la Recherche Médicale (FCRM).
This project is more than just an infrastructure; Le Havre is a symbol of hope, care, and renewal. It represents a place where every woman can receive high-quality medical care, and where every birth is treated with dignity and attention.
In December 2024, we had the unique opportunity to recover medical equipment, furniture, and supplies from the dismantling of an office in Stuttgart-Degerloch. Through months of coordinated efforts, over 2,000 kg of materials were collected, packaged, and shipped to Brazzaville in March 2025.
The transportation of these essential materials was handled by EMONS Air & Sea GmbH, with shipment via Air France (Flight AF0756/03). As an internationally tax-exempt humanitarian export, this initiative successfully delivered crucial gynecological equipment needed for maternal healthcare.
The donated items are destined for the FCRM Health Center in Massissia, where they will play a vital role in improving maternal and women’s healthcare services. Through this initiative, we are strengthening local capacities and contributing to the sustainable development of an accessible and effective healthcare system.
Le Havre is more than just a structure—it is a community built around values of solidarity, innovation, and shared commitment. With support from Germany and beyond, we are doing more than just delivering equipment; we are contributing to lasting change in maternal healthcare in the Republic of Congo.
